About

My name is Kim Rounds. I am a 23 year-old female who has been working as a Registered Nurse (RN) for over two years. I've been in healthcare since 2016 where I started as a Certified Nursing Assistant, then got my Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), and followed with my RN. I am currently working as a full-time pediatric travel nurse, traveling across the United States to help hospitals care for sick children. It is truly a blessing to get to work amongst such great groups of healthcare individuals and teams. I am also currently a full-time student working towards my Bachelor's in Science and Nursing at Upper Iowa University and will be graduating in May 2022. I am proud of my hard work and dedication in school which led me to achieve Highest Honors. These achievements will help me reach my dream job of being a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP). Following my BSN graduation, I plan to enroll into a PNP program while continuing my pediatric travel nursing job.

Goals and interests

Career goal

I have been a Registered Nurse (RN) since September of 2019. Right after I graduated with my Associate's Degree in Nursing I accepted a full-time position as a RN on the Pediatric unit in a hospital where I was living. There, I gained two years of nursing experience and began travel nursing in August of 2020. I have almost completed my first assignment and will be moving even farther away from home (Iowa) to Atlanta, GA! I plan to continue traveling to pay for as much school as I can. Once I graduate Upper Iowa University with my Bachelor's in Science and Nursing (BSN) I plan to start a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner program! After completed that I hope to work in an acute care facility with children admitted to the hospital and maybe one day open up my own little clinic.

Graduate school interests

I would like to attend a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner program right after I complete my BSN!

Outside the classroom

I enjoy traveling the most! I love to visit new places and explore new things. I value the time I spend with my family and friends. I also really enjoy working out to be the healthiest version of myself!
