About
Currently living in Michigan and continuing service in the United States Navy Reserves while attending the University of Florida online for the Master's in Natural Resources and Conservation with a concentration in Ecological Restoration through the School of Forest Resources and Conservation. I started with a certificate in Natural Resources Policy and Administration which was completed in December 2019 then decided to continue with the Master of Science in Natural Resources and Conservation with a concentration Ecological Restoration. Our natural resources are extremely important and we need to ensure that they will continue to provide us with many services and products for generations to come. I have always loved the outdoors and felt this was the perfect education choice for my next career. My first career has been serving in the United States Navy Reserves for the last 20 years. It has been an adventure and a wonderful experience in leadership as I transition to the civilian work force.

Goals and interests
- Career goal
My preferred work would be with federal or state organizations in natural resources or forestry with the focus on managing our lands for future generations. With the concentrations that I have it opens up doors for both government and private companies.
- Graduate school interests
Currently focusing on classes as well as utilizing my 30 acres of Michigan forest as a lab for some of the courses. Working to restore portions of the forest as well as creating wildlife habitat throughout the acreage.
- Outside the classroom
Anything that gets me outdoors including hunting, mushing, skiing, hiking, kayaking, watching wildlife, gardening, and enjoying quiet nights under the stars in the forest of northern Michigan. I also play field trumpet for military funeral honors with the Navy and love creating items as I work with ceramics and wood.
