About
I will say that trying to get straight A's prior to applying to the nursing program while being a single mama to my toddler was not easy. Succeeding took the proper time management to allocate my everyday home responsibilities with my everyday educational responsibilities. When my son was an infant I would make flashcards while he took his nap. I would post them up all over the house and glance at a card or two while he was awake. I would record lectures and listen to them at home or while I was driving. These are a few examples of what it took to obtain the GPA I needed to be considered a qualified applicant for a rigorous and competitive program. Furthermore, my first choice in nursing programs was Saddleback College - rated 2nd in the nation. In fact, it was the only program in which I applied. I knew the competition would be fierce and achieving anything less wasn't an option.

Goals and interests
- Career goal
I've been accepted into Saddleback's RN program where I plan to graduate and obtain my Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN). After I take the NCLEX and obtain my RN license, I plan on applying to different hospitals while continuing my education online for my Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN) through CSUF. I have already completed two of their online Jumpstart BSN-RN bridge courses over the summer.
- Graduate school interests
I'd like to get my Master Degree in Nursing (MSN) where I plan on pursuing my educational goals to become licensed as a nurse practitioner. I am interested to see where I land as a new grad and am open to new opportunities as they arise. Though I will say, my passion right now lies in psychiatric nursing.
- Outside the classroom
My hobbies include being present and active in my son's life. I enjoy taking him on different adventures whether that consist of visiting zoos, aquariums, different parks, going to the beach etc. I also enjoy being a dog mom to my fur child. I've had my dog for over a decade now. Home-life aside, I like traveling, camping, exploring new areas, and trying new things. Every now and then, (when I find the time), I like getting in touch with my artsy-side which includes: writing, reading, drawing, painting, and teaching myself how to play the acoustic guitar.
