Kylee Wilson

I am Kylee Wilson, born in China in 2007 and raised in Florida for the past 16.5 years. I am currently attending The Rock, a private Christian school in Gainesville, which uniquely offers the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program for grades K–12. This rigorous curriculum has provided me with a comprehensive worldview of life and opportunities for independent research synthesis, extended writing, critical thinking, creativity, and service.

My perseverance, determination, and scholastic excellence make me a strong candidate for scholarship funding. Through my involvement in service and leadership-oriented events, I have participated in three international mission trips and recorded over 200 volunteer hours. As an athlete, I have played competitive softball year round for the last seven years. This sport has instilled in me the values of discipline, teamwork, time management, confidence, and intellectual acumen. These qualities have been instrumental in defining my character and guiding my academic and personal pursuits.

Orphaned at birth, I have overcome obstacles and beat all odds. I am a survivor who will continue to work as hard as it takes to accomplish my goals. My short-term life goals include graduating high school with honors and an IB diploma, gaining entrance to the university of my choice to best match my aptitude, and pursuing a fulfilling career. In the long term, I aspire to use my developed gifts to help others, make a significant impact in this world, and find happiness as I embark upon my future professional and personal journey of life.
