About
Growing up, I always knew I was different. While my peers effortlessly focused on their schoolwork, I struggled with attention, impulsivity, and organization. Diagnosed with ADHD at a young age, I faced daily challenges that often made academic and social situations feel overwhelming. But rather than view my diagnosis as a limitation, I chose to see it as a catalyst for growth and resilience.
Throughout middle and high school, I learned to develop strategies to manage my symptoms. I created detailed planners, broke assignments into manageable steps, and sought support from teachers and mentors. These tools didn’t just improve my academic performance—they taught me patience, perseverance, and the importance of adaptability. I realized that my journey was about more than just overcoming obstacles; it was about transforming challenges into opportunities for self-improvement.
My experience with ADHD has also deepened my empathy and desire to help others. I became interested in the human body and movement, inspired by my own journey of navigating physical and mental barriers. I volunteered at a local physical therapy clinic, where I saw firsthand how compassionate, skilled therapists helped patients regain strength and confidence. Witnessing the profound impact of physical therapy ignited my passion to pursue this profession. I want to be someone who can guide others through their struggles, just as I have learned to manage mine.
Pursuing a career as a physical therapist is my way of turning adversity into purpose. My personal challenges have fostered qualities such as resilience, determination, and a deep understanding of the importance of individualized care. I am committed to continuous learning and growth, knowing that the path to becoming a physical therapist requires dedication and compassion. My ADHD has taught me to embrace my unique perspective, approach problems creatively, and persist despite setbacks.
In college, I plan to further develop my academic skills and practical experience, all while advocating for inclusivity and understanding. I believe my journey has prepared me to excel, not in spite of my ADHD, but because of it. It has shaped me into a compassionate, motivated individual ready to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. My goal is to become a physical therapist who not only treats injuries but also empowers patients to overcome their own obstacles—just as I have learned to do.
