The most meaningful events in my life right now has to be the current situation that is going on in my family. My brother has been arrested and charged with child pornography. When I was seven years old, he sexually assaulted him me and two of my younger cousins at that time and attempted to kill me twice, but I was too scared to speak up and didn't know better. DSS was involved because I am currently seventeen years old and was removed from my household to live with my aunt until my final decision could be made if I can go home. I live with my aunt for two and a half months until they gave me the approval to go home but my brother has been put under house arrest and can not use any electrical items connected to the internet. Even through all of the challenges and Trauma I've experienced, I still want to achieve my dream of becoming a veterinarian. I have always had a soft spot and comfort for neglected animals. Sometimes I feel like the neglected animal or abandoned pet. I feel like it was my fault like I did something wrong and deserve to be forgotten to fix everyone's problem. Ever since I was young I wanted to become a veterinarian to help animals in need and possibly share my story. No one deserves to go through what I had to go through in the same way or even worse. There have been many studies that animals can help humans the pain that they have experienced or Comfort them in a way that they feel safe again. And I want to help those in need and animals that need help.
