About

Hello!
My name is Larri Branigan Kuhns. I grew up moving from state to state with my family, my father being a lawyer for the FDIC, but we finally settled in the small town of Piedmont Oklahoma when I was twelve after my father retired. Currently, I am a student a Junior at University of Central Oklahoma studying Psychology.

In high school, I didn't have a plan for college, until I was invited to join an Equestrian Riding team for Redlands Community College in El Reno Oklahoma. It was there that I graduated with two years of basics, plus was an active member of the Equestrian Riding team, and Equestrian Judging team. I was awarded runner up rank in the finals round of the Equestrian Team Regional my sophomore year and final semester of being on the riding team. Then, I placed 7th at American Quarter Horse World Show Judging Competition out of over 100 competitors in my division. All in the years of 2013-2015.

Now, I am a Psychology major at the beautiful campus of University of Central Oklahoma. Psychology has always been an interest to me since I took a class in high school. When I discovered that I enjoyed the class so much in community college, I decided to take it on as a major.
I have horses of my own and riding is a major part of my life, my entire life I have ridden and shown horses. Reading, studying and learning is my passion and hobby alongside my growing knowledge of horses.

Goals and interests

Career goal

Psychology is a wide range of job paths. I have decided after researching all types of job types, that Neuropsychology is a path for me. The brain and how it works had always fascinated me, and then I found that I can work with the brain and people, together.

Graduate school interests

I would love to attend University of Oklahoma (OU)! I want to follow in my Father's, Uncle's and Cousin's footsteps to receive my Doctorate from such a prestigious school. There, I want to study Neurology and Neuropsychology in depth in the ranges of Psychology!

Outside the classroom

I have been riding horses since I was five, and got my own horse at seven. Riding and showing horses is a passion and hobby of mine that surpasses all others. I have a 3 year old Appaloosa horse (who I have raised from birth), a 22 year old paint horse, and a 29+ Tennessee Walking Horse.Being a horse lover, I attend a large model horse convention every year for the past five years called Breyerfest in Lexington Kentucky. Model horses have always been a small hobby of mine and my collection has grown to a large 400+ since I was very young.
I enjoy judging and scribing at horse shows.
I also have other skills in photography, video gaming, reading, and Native American history: bead working and horse trappings (horse costumes).
