Latarsia Pearsey

I am a Strayers University graduate with a Bachelor of Business Administration Concentration in Management. I am currently working on my Masters in Special Education at University of Pembroke. I am familiar with building positive and professional relationships with the community. I have work experience in career development, assisting with case management, and other related work force development services. My 15 years of work experience in the Occupational Prep Work Program for Columbus County Schools as a Job Coach has given me the opportunity to work with a variety of learning levels, skill levels, disabilities, and personalities. This last year I was promoted to a EC teachers' position. I love seeing the growth in each individual student! I am excited about learning to help engage my students and increase my knowledge as an EC teacher. I attended a EC workshop April 2022 at UNCP and absolutely loved it!
For the past 7 years I volunteered with a nonprofit organization named G-REC (Greater Restoration Outreach Ministries). This organization is dedicated to changing the lives of young adults. As part of that team I aided in training the youth on how to complete applications, resumes, portfolios, and provide the independently living skills to help motivate them to become productive citizens.
I consider my work ethic to be strong. I am an active listener, with great leadership skills and interpersonal skills. My personal strength includes, but is not limited to, the following:
• Self-motivated initiative - complete tasks without being asked.
• Dedicated to my position - take pride in making sure that my job duties are completed successfully.
• Computer literate - proficient knowledge of applications permits ease of the creation and completion of work documents
• Strong communication skills (oral and written)
