LaToya Shields

Greetings,

My name is LaToya Shields, and I am elated to be a part of such an esteemed society. I hold a Bachelor’s in Science Degree in Industrial Technology with a concentration Computer Networking from Alcorn State University. This past Fall, I began the journey to obtain my Master's Degree in Management Information Systems from Lamar University. I enjoy the flexibility of the Master’s program as it allows me to balance my life as a working Single mom. Currently, I am employed as a Senior IT Project Coordinator with a mid-size transit agency in North Texas where I am responsible for the Enterprise Resource Systems (ERP) as well assist on various projects that continue to move the agency forward to meet the needs of the customers and residents in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
My motivation comes from my daughter, Aria and is coupled with my desire to learn more about ERP systems. Also, as a mother of a preemie I participate in March of Dimes Walks as well as share my story with other preemie moms.
