Lauren Fernandes

I am currently pursuing my Master of Science in Nursing degree, Family Nurse Practitioner track at Chamberlain University. My projected graduation is February 2027, and my current GPA is 4.0. I have 2.5 years of experience as an Emergency Department Registered Nurse, presently aspiring to obtain more experience in the Pediatric Emergency Department and in Women's Health. I was honored to receive multiple Daisy award nominations by several of my patients, whom showed their immense appreciation for my nursing care, and felt that I exhibited nursing excellence. I completed my Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree at Georgian Court University, achieving a 3.5 GPA, whilst concurrently working as an Emergency Department Technician. While pursuing my BSN, I had the honor of serving as a medical volunteer in Ghana, where I obtained valuable experience performing malaria testing, extensive wound care, and assisting in deliveries of newborns in local villages. My career goals are to become either a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner. I aspire to use my acquired experience and knowledge to make a difference in the healthcare system and contribute to healthcare policy reform. I also aspire to incorporate my passion for travel, helping others, and learning, and eventually participate in more medical volunteer trips to underserved communities.
