About

I am a patient, organized person who loves to help children succeed in areas that they have difficulty in. I dealt with adversity as a child and my counselors helped me to have hope and direction to come through those trials. My desire is to achieve my LPC so that I can help children and families find hope and recover from their trauma. They can have a joyful life no matter what they are going through. I I am blessed to share my story and have been given opportunities to find my passion while helping at church, babysitting in my community and volunteering at a family guidance center for families without financial means to get mental health treatment. This is when I knew that I could combine my experience and trauma with a lifelong career to help children in similar situations.

My passion is helping children. Through my experience working in childcare and tutoring, I am confident I am able to help children stay motivated, organized, and meet set goals in an encouraging, safe environment. I am able to understand and communicate well with parents, to help them feel at peace with the process.

Goals and interests

Career goal

I intend to finish with my Masters in Mental and Clinical Health Counseling. As well as continue to get my LPC with an emphasis in School Counseling and Sand Tray Certification.

Graduate school interests

My goal is to work in a clinical setting, like the Child and Family Guidance Center, in my rural hometown of Sherman Tx . The center is a place where families, with low economic means, are encouraged to grow and develop skills to live a mentally healthy life. Their goal is to assist children and families from varied backgrounds in finding solace, recovery, and rebuilding a healthy lifestyle. I hope to add my services to the Texoma community with this clinic or one like it. I want to specialize in working with children and their families who suffer from traumatic events so that I can help to relieve the mental distress they are experiencing through counseling.

Outside the classroom

Reading, horseback riding, cheerleading, gymnastics, taekwondo, photography, modeling, volunteering, weight lifting, pilates, swimming, spending time with family and friends, tutoring.
