About

I am an organized and dedicated CS freshman at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. I am also an international student who moved from Venezuela to the US last year in hopes of acquiring an education that will make my family proud. After I graduate, I plan to make substantial scientific contributions in the fields of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data science. I became an Honor Society member in hopes to acquire the resources necessary to achieve all my education aspirations. I hope that one day I can return the favor and provide other bright young minds with the tools necessary to make their ideals a reality.

Goals and interests

Career goal

Once I get my degree in Computer Science, I intend to find a job as Computer and Information Research Scientist. This is a job which requires you to formulate and design state-of-the art computing technology and new ways to use existing mechanics. It is a rapidly growing field in demand for skilled programmers with the ability to innovate and solve complex problems involving business, medicine, and countless other endeavors. I'm interested in this job path because it allows me tackle challenging problems while simultaneously exercising my creativity to the fullest extent.

Graduate school interests

I am very interested in enrolling into the University of Massachusetts Artificial Intelligence Graduate School Program. I belief that the future of Computer Science will soon largely be dominated by artificial intelligence. In the next few years, innovations in artificial intelligence will allow machines to perform tasks that go far beyond the scope of human expertise. I want to a worthwhile contributor to this promising next step in technological innovation. Thankfully, the University of Massachusetts Artificial Intelligence Graduate Program is ranked 11th across the best in the US. Thus, I look forward to the all the opportunities for knowledge expansion that I could acquire there.

Outside the classroom

When I'm not busy with my academic endeavors, some of my most beloved hobbies include playing the piano, track running at the campus recreation center, reading science fiction novels, and calling my family back in Venezuela. The immeasurable joy I get from all these activities allow me to me to manage the mental strain of my academic workload while maintaining my mental health.
