About

Hello, my name is Alexis, and I love psychology. I also am quite fond of the various arts and literature, but only the foremost is what I wish to pursue as a career. Likewise, I also enjoy studying and achieving. Soon I will be transferring from the community college in my home region and to the University of Chicago-- it will be a change of scenery and a novel environment that I am excited about moving to.

Goals and interests

Career goal

Clinical therapy is my ultimate goal. As I am a ways off from that mark, per the necessary schooling taking years, I am considering a career in USPS up until then.

Graduate school interests

I am unsure of what I ought to put here-- I suppose I am interested in studying somewhere new and of further learning about psychology-- and there are likely art clubs or whatnot I can join, those will be interesting.

Outside the classroom

I like to study psychology, read, cook, bake, paint, draw, write, and so on. I also enjoy volunteering at the local cat shelter and food pantry, but I am unsure of whether or not those count.

    The Times

    Nov 2019 – Jun 2020

  • I volunteered in the cat building and helped with the socializing, grooming, and exercising of the cats. Secondary was my engaging with adoptees, helping them to navigate the building and finding a cat that suited their preferences. Far more occasionally, as events were only held about once a year, I would help with those; baking for the bake sale and running the register, for instance.

    Illinois Valley Animal Rescue

  • I help with the making of orders for curbside pickup, although I deal primary with the bread, desserts, and fresh produce. On occasion I help with loading the orders into vehicles.
