About
I am currently enrolled in the AS in Biology degree pathway at Kilgore College, Kilgore, TX. I will be transferring to the University of Texas at Tyler in the spring to continue working toward my BS in Biology. I am a first-generation college student in addition to being a somewhat non-traditional student as a 46-year-old wife, mother of five, and grandmother. After enjoying more than twenty years caring for others as a nurse, I am changing my path in life. I am a naturalist, so after observing the dramatic changes taking place in our environment as well as the loss of so many species of life at such an alarming rate, I decided to seek a career in conservation science. Obtaining this degree will enable me to become someone who actively works to restore and maintain our natural resources and wildlife diversity for future generations.
