About
Greetings~ My name is Lindsey Rogers and I am currently a sophomore attending Folsom Lake College. As I continue my studies in my purposed major, Biology: pre-nursing, my goal is to obtain my Bachelor’s of Science degree in nursing. Upon graduating from Folsom Lake College in the spring of 2017, I will transfer to Sacramento State University to receive my BSN degree. I began pursuing an interest in nursing in the 8th grade and have since then, taken every opportunity to gain more knowledge and experience within the medical field. I am excited to engage in this career as I continue in my undergraduate studies.
As my profile reflects, I am also very involved within the community and strive to be a proactive student that deeply cares about the things that I am involved in. I have volunteered at Marshall Hospital for over 4 years now and I thoroughly enjoy my time serving the patients there. While still in high school, I organized the Patient Gift Project (P.G.P) under Marshall Medical Center. This project allows volunteers the opportunity to bring gifts to hospitalized patients at all recognized holidays. I am also very involved with my business, Blessed Beginnings Doula Care. I became a certified birth doula through DONA International in 2015 and I have since then assisted 6 mothers in the successful deliveries of their babies. I consider it an honor and privilege to walk alongside families during the intense period of labor and birth. I am involved in various other programs throughout El Dorado County and also hold the Miss El Dorado County royalty title for 2016/2017.
I approach my future educational aspirations with hope and excitement. I am dedicated to achieving academic excellence and I have a strong passion for practicing empathy, integrity, honesty, and determination in all that I pursue.

Goals and interests
- Career goal
After graduating with my Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing degree, I would like to start as an emergency room nurse, gaining experience by being exposed to all that one encounters in ER. After spending some time in ER, I would like to eventually become permanent in the OB department as a labor and delivery nurse. Although I have aspirations as to where I would like to use my degree, I am excited to see where my skills will take me as I pursue this career.
- Outside the classroom
Although the tasks that are listed above keep my schedule full, I do make sure to find time for fun, spontaneous adventures and hobbies. I have a love for music, more specifically playing the guitar and singing. Music is a great escape for me and I enjoy engaging in it any time that I can. I also have a new-found interest with aviation. I have recently taken introductory flight lessons with the hope of pursuing my student pilot's license in the near future. American Sign Language has also become very important to me. ASL is a beautiful language and I love to learn more about the deaf culture in my free time.
I enjoy day trips to Lake Tahoe, spending time with my family, DIY crafts and baking. I also am an essential oil lover and enjoy finding new ways to incorporate oils into my daily life.
