About

I am enrolled in the MBA master’s program at St. Louis University. I have a BFA in graphic design from The University of TN at Knoxville, where I am from. In true TN Vols spirit, I am passionate about giving my time and talents back to my community with various volunteer initiatives. Examples of these initiatives include teaching photography to underserved youth and donating my fine art to charity.

After obtaining my degree, I gained experience in several graphic design positions including Ruby Tuesday where I expanded my department. I went from being the sole graphic designer to hiring, training, and leading 3 junior designers. At ADS Phoenix my multiple focuses included managing major client accounts, negotiating costs with suppliers, and decreasing project turnaround time. Combined, I learned excellent time management, strategic thinking, and communication techniques. I have a strong interest in management and relationship development.

With the knowledge I gained from my experiences, I started my own freelance graphic design practice. I excel in creative production and disciplined planning as evidence from my successful business. As a full-time business owner, I set a strategy in place which doubled my revenue within that 5-year time span. I retained clients through exceptional design work, strong work ethic and collaborative teamwork.

I’m seeking my MBA to diversify my creative skills and art background. Here I will improve upon my leadership capabilities and knowledge of finance, critical problem solving and data analysis. With this skillset, my first goal is to become a creative art director. My second goal is to pursue my long-term dream of starting a nonprofit organization, teaching art to underserved youth.
