Goals and interests

Career goal

In continuing the path of research-based policy creation and implementation, I will be part of a dynamic group of educators starting a research and teacher training firm in an effort to significantly impact teaching practices in urban schools. Our focus will be culturally relevant and inclusive pedagogy, embedded in a hands-on, technological format. My research will help educational leaders and teachers learn and employ instructional strategies that address the needs of Black and Latino boys and girls, while keeping abreast of all relevant and emerging data.

Graduate school interests

I am currently working toward my doctorate in P16 Educational Leadership. This scholarship will be a great aid in paying for fees associated with the collection, organization and analysis of data.

Outside the classroom

I enjoy listening to live music, watching movies at home with my family, reading poetry and reading about
politics.
