Lizeth Nayibe Ortiz Reyes

Currently, I am pursuing a Master program in the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. When I was admitted to UWM it became clear that it would not have been possible for me to study something other than Materials Science and Engineering. Fortunately, I was able to focus on this field both at an academic level and at an extracurricular one. My background as a Chemical Engineer recently graduated and, full-time graduate international student of Materials Science & Engineering Master Program at UW-Milwaukee allows establish interesting topics that bridges aspects of ChemEng and MSEng. My experiences with the Materials Advantage Chapter in UW-Milwaukee have enhanced my communication and persuasive abilities as well as my understanding of compromise. My responsibilities involve working in a team to solve specific problems and
then to test and revise our work until we have solved each problem efficiently. I have attended many student-led activities including attending local and national-level professional society meetings and conferences. After I get my Master, I plan to work in research and development with focus on Corrosion Problems of industries. I would like to contribute developing new materials in order to prevent problems that corrosion cause every day not just in industries but also at home or work. Once I get experienced in industry I definitely would like to continue my studies pursuing a Ph.D. Program and teaching what I learnt from my experience to the new generation.
