About
I am a 51 year old, non-traditional student who has survived some incredible experiences and circumstances. Once my four children were grown, I decided it was time for me to do what I loved, what I was good at. I am a social work undergrad who believes I will be amazing in the field of social work because of all that I have lived through, besides it is what I love to do...reach out to and help others!

Goals and interests
- Career goal
Currently I work in child welfare where we go into the homes of families that have special needs children, children with behavioral issues, or abused children. We teach the children daily living skills, social skills, cognitive behavior therapy, etc. We also coach the families and help them stay together in the home as a family. For my field placement internship my senior year, I hope to intern at a Child Protective Agency within a local county. My end goal is to run a Domestic Abuse shelter that caters to women who have survived Intimate Partner Violence (IPV). I want to run a full-service organization that helps these women in everything from leaving their spouse, getting restraining orders, filing for divorce, etc. to a place to live to start to rebuild their lives, to classes they can take like money management, child rearing, and more.
- Graduate school interests
After I earn my bachelor degree, I plan on pursuing a master degree in social work from UW-Whitewater. I will have advance standing in the degree program and will have an expedited path to graduation.
