My name is Loren Church and I am a 36 year old college student. December 2015 I graduated from the Des Moines Area Community College. On August 22, 2016 my journey will continue at Iowa State University where I fully intend to continue my academic excellence. I know that this is the gateway to my future and the future is now.

Goals and interests
- Career goal
I would like to be an advocate/Case Worker for both adolescents and adults with past criminal involvement or drug addiction.
Ultimately, I would like to be a Case Manager for delinquent adolescents or a closely related entity. I feel that if troubled youth get the right advice and/or guidance, along with real world examples, they can begin to picture their lives differently. Being able to see yourself differently is a crucial step in being able to change the things about yourself that are less than desirable.- Graduate school interests
My goals for grad school are pretty simplistic. I want to graduate with Honors, while improving my G.P.A to 4.0!
- Outside the classroom
I like to write short stories and poetry. Writing is cathartic for me and help me to sort through my frustrations in a rational manner.
