About

I am an unconventional student in my mid-thirties. I have my own family and have raised three amazing kids. I have a general education associate’s degree, and now that my children are getting older, I can pursue my dream of becoming a special education teacher. I have had the honor of staying at home to raise my three children for the last eleven years, putting my goals and dreams on the back burner. Even though society has stigmatized and marginalized my role as a stay-at-home mom for one reason or another, I know it was my calling for that chapter in my life, and I do not regret for one moment my choice to be at home with my children. But now another chapter is starting, and I am excited about it.

Goals and interests

Career goal

I have a love and passion for special education and the students who receive services. I can not wait until I am in the teaching field to make a positive impact.

Graduate school interests

I have thought about the possibility of pursuing my Master's degree when my children get a little older.

Outside the classroom

Most of my hobbies have mostly been born out of necessity, and they include sewing, cooking and baking from scratch, gardening, learning about food allergies, eosinophilic esophagitis, and organizing. I enjoy some extracurricular hobbies by listening to audiobooks while I multitask, paper crafts, watching British dramas, and tinkering with photoshop.
