I'm pushing this field of study because I believe that fire science will help me when I go to a paid fire department. First by having a college degree you will be able to move up the ranks of the fire company a lot faster. Second, I want to be the first one in my family to have a college degree. Third, I just want to help people. My biggest risk in the last 3 year was joining Public Safety at Middle Bucks Institute of Technology. This was my biggest risk because I just did not know what I was in for. Looking back at it 3 years later it was one of my best decisions of my life, because now I have a bunch of certifications ranging from Fire Fighter 1 to Emergency Medical Technician to Hazmat Operation to NIMS 100,200,700,800, and etc. This was one of my biggest risks because it has changed my life for the better, by meeting new people and expanding my skills in Public Safety.
