Mac Michael Rubio

Mac Michael M. Rubio earned his master's degree in Chemistry at North Carolina A&T State University (NCAT) in 2022 and his bachelor’s degree in Chemistry at Central Luzon State University (CLSU), Philippines in 2016. He previously worked as a Science Research Specialist at the Philippine Rice Research Institute from 2016 to 2019 and as a University Chemistry Instructor at CLSU from 2019-2020. When he first joined NCAT in 2021, he worked as a graduate research assistant in Dr. Peng He’s research group in which he handled several research projects, published original research, and presented poster papers in several student research competitions. He was a recipient of the 2022 College of Science and Technology Most Outstanding Junior Graduate Research Assistant Award, the 2021 Philippine DOST-SEI Foreign Graduate Scholarship Program, and a member of the Honor Society, American Chemical Society, Integrated Chemists of the Philippines, and the Philippine Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
