Goals and interests
- Career goal
A blackboard, a projector, a quiet lecture hall. Equations and definitions written both in chalk and electronic type; secrets of our bodies, newly discovered, displayed to teach a new generation of curious thinkers and those who desire to learn and help others. Science ties humanity together in visceral ways; despite cultural and ideological differences, we are all human and ninety-nine percent identical, and we know of this all-important truth thanks to science. Working at the forefront of the science field has been my dream for as long as I can remember. I hope to use my education to inspire others, either in the classroom, in my relationships, or on the streets. I want to use my education to grow as a person and become a researcher, searching for biological secrets to help those around me live better lives.
My dream job is to work as a professor of molecular biology at a university, splitting my time equally between my lab and my students. I want to research diseases, research why they exist, how to prevent them, and ultimately how to cure them. I want to do work that helps real people on a mass scale, and teach passionate students about the secrets of biology so they can move the science field into the future. My dream is to have an impact, not only for people affected by my research, but for people affected by my teaching and friendship.- Graduate school interests
I definitely want to purse a Doctorate degree after obtaining my Bachelor's, but I do not yet know where I will do this.
- Outside the classroom
Cooking and Baking: I have found that cooking and baking, especially new recipes that I have never attempted to me, relaxes me and is a way I can also show my love to family and friends.
Reading: I always find myself turning to a book if I am stressed, exhausted (mentally or physically) or desiring an escape from the mundane world.
General Research: I am guilty of staying up far too late in pursuit of new knowledge that intrigues me. I adore podcasts, documentaries, and nonfiction books on my interests, which are wide-ranging.
Physical Exercise: Sports have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, and being physically active is a priority of mine.
