Summary
I am a PhD candidate in Petroleum Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin. I am working with Dr. Sepehrnoori on the simulation of hydraulic fracturing. Also, I have developed strong research background in coupling geomechanics models with reservoir simulators in our research group. I am interested in numerical methods such as Finite Element Method, Finite Volume Method, and finite Difference Method in fluid and solid mechanics problems. My current work is more focused on fracture mechanics and simulating the fluid-solid interactions using ABAQUS and STAR-CCM+ softwares. Using CZM model in Abaqus, I have published two technical papers in SCC2014 and URTeC2014 conferences on the simulation of multiple-stage hydraulic fracturing. Moreover, I am investigating new capabilities in Abaqus on how to attain a more rigorous solution for the fracture propagation direction using the XFEM-based CZM model.
Intended Job Path
My ultimate job goal is to work in an interdisciplinary research group in one of the major oil companies such as Chevron, Exxon, BP, and ConocoPhillips in Houston, TX.
Grad School Interests
I am interested in exploring new technologies for the enhancement of production from unconventional oil and gas resources. In order to achieve this goal, I chose Petroleum and Geosystems Engineering Department at The University of Texas at Austin, one of the top three schools in my major.
