Maia Starkey

My name is Maia Starkey and I currently attend the Central Florida Aerospace Academy. I am studying aerospace and aeronautics in hopes of pursuing a future career in military or commercial aviation. I am an honors student and in the National Junior Honors Society with an unweighted GPA of 3.98 and a weighted GPA of 4.45. I am ranked 1st out of 400 students in my class. I have taken 5 college classes on top of all my other honors classes throughout my High School years. I have over 123 service hours from various activities such as working at Sun n Fun, assisting with taking care of animals at the SPCA, volunteering with my church, and various other community service activities. I have worked as a server and now a bartender at my families restaurant since I was very young. I chose to attend my current High school with the goal of learning leadership skills, taking challenging honors courses, and exploring my interests in aviation. I am a student pilot and am actively pursuing my Private Pilots License. I am a member of the drill team and color guard and have competed at many competitions and ceremonies. I am the marketer for our Women in STEM and Aviation club. Last school year I was awarded the Military Order of the World Wars award for JROTC for excellence in leadership. I also have a Naval Academy Summer Seminar certificate for my week spent at their summer seminar in Maryland last summer. I am certified in Fusion 360 as well.
