About

I am currently a biomedicine student studying at La Trobe University. I am studying this course as a pathway to enter medical school and continue my study to become a paediatrician. I was born in Kassala, Sudan. My parents fled to Eritrea before I was born. They were forced to leave their homeland due to the war between Eritrea and Ethiopia that destroyed their country. In 2013, my family received a Refugee Humanitarian Visa after waiting for one year. I am fortunate to be the first to attend university and study medicine in my family which encourages me to put my education as my highest priority. My father is a tailor, and my mother used to teach Arabic, but now she is a housewife. However, ever since I was young, I always wanted to become a doctor for kids. . I was born in a small village where hospitals and the medical clinics was not always provided, and it was very expensive for people to seek treatment. Since then, I was inspired to become a doctor to help those in need. After I arrived in Australia, I got involved in many different activities and programs to utilise my education to help other people.
