About

I am originally from Gent, Belgium, and frequently make trips to visit family. I have lived in Texas since 2000. I am currently a U.S. Perminant Resident, but remain a European citizen. I plan to obtain a dual European- U.S. citizenship in the near future. My diverse cultural background has allowed me to remain open minded and has encouraged me to travel all over the world to explore different ways of life.
I have also faced a significant language barrier. When I first moved to Texas, I didn't speak or understand any english. Thus, I was attending school in a language completely foreign to me. In as little as 3 months my english speaking and writing skills greatly improved. Thanks to this unique experience, my foreign language skills were significantly enhanced.
I am a native dutch speaker, with English as my second language. I am fluent in both written and spoken skills in both English and Dutch.

I started my undergraduate career at the University of Texas in Austin in the Fall of 2009. In just 4 years I was able to obtain two degrees and completed a business foundations program. I graduated from UT in May (2013), with a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology, a Bachelors of Arts in Sociology and a certification in business foundations. I am currently attending the University of Houston Law Center and expecting to graduate in May of 2016.
