About

My name is Marcus D. Yarbrough and I am a 2013 graduate of the University of Phoenix. I majored in the field of Psychology whereas I received a Bachelor's of Science Degree with a minor in Political Science. I chose psychology because I have worked my up in the workforce from grounds-keeping, grocery, hospitality, production, restaurant, driving, and warehouse occupations. Since I have been apart of so many job types and have fulfilled so many job descriptions I decided to take up psychology to compliment my work experience. In high school I majored in Health occupations and minored in cosmetology, but since then I have worked in just about every type of job industry while pulling orders in an industrial warehouse setting was my last position. I use my knowledge from health occupations and psychology to improve my performance along with working well with others in all aspects of society in all types of settings. As I prepare myself for future challenges and opportunities I give credit to my family, my peers, and the University of Phoenix for preparing me for the manifestations that occur on a daily basis in a lifetime. Since I have been employed by most job industries I have made aspirations to become involved with more authoritative occupations such as firefighting and law enforcement to begin my career as college graduate and hope to one day be considered for a municipal/circuit judge or government official position as I seek to earn a Master's Degree in Criminal Justice/Global and Homeland Security.

Goals and interests

Career goal

I am seeking to find employment in the field of psychology that will relate to helping others with their problems or displaying an assertive attitude and utilizing psychological principles to address internal or external issues. I hope to be a psychologist or psychiatrist one day in the near future as a result of my work experiences and educational background.

Graduate school interests

I am in the process of earning a Master's Degree in Criminal Justice/Global and Homeland Security at the University of Phoenix although I was interested in Industrial/Organizational Psychology. Since Industrial/Organizational Psychology was not offered I chose Criminal Justice/Global and Homeland Security as an equivalent to Industrial/Organizational Psychology whereas I have about 24 credits to complete before I receive my Master's Degree in this field of study.

Outside the classroom

My hobbies involve teaching and social work although I know everyone enjoys a good party. For this reason, I always try to drink responsibly during celebrations that include intoxicating substances. I also like to play or watch sports such as baseball, basketball, football, soccer, tennis, bike riding, and weight lifting. Besides these hobbies I write poetry, philosophy, read religious literature, entertainment magazines, and collect authentic coins, currency, or heirlooms.
