About
Hello! My name is Maria Mahmud, and I attend the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). I love meeting new people and I'm very approachable. I made a few decent friends in high school, which I thought initially thought was my downfall at the time because I thought I needed much more. However, because of those few great friends, I wouldn't be here today. I wouldn't have realized my passion for sociology and its many fields. I took 3 years of French in high school, and Arabic in the University. I figured that before I perfect any other language I recently learned, I should perfect my native one first. I'm currently a major in Sociology and minor in psychology as I write this. The best class I've ever taken (in my whole life), was in UIC. It was the Sociology of Childhood and Youth, which focused mostly on American youth. My wish is to have a career dealing with children and youth with my BA in Sociology. I should graduate with that title in May 2016. I would be very happy with an internship and a chance at a dream job, if offered. Thank you very much for taking the time to read this.
