cashier at I was hired to work at Market Basket in the Summer of 2020. It was my first job experience, and I was nervous to start this new journey. It had been only a year for me in the States, so I wasn't fully adapted to the environment yet I wasn't comfortable talking to new people, including customers and co-workers. However, I pushed myself to get out of my comfort zone, because I believe it's the first move to start adapting and getting used to something new. I started gradually having conversations with my co-workers and I realized the more we talked, the more I felt comfortable being at Market Basket. I'm happy to be part of this work community since it taught me social skills I lacked. I no longer feel anxious in unfamiliar areas, and I find myself curious to meet new people everyday.

About
I was studying abroad in the Middle East at Antonine International School from 2004 to 2019. I then moved to America and continued my sophomore year in high school at Shepherd Hill in Dudley, Massachusetts. Moving to a completely different environment was one of the main struggles I had to go through. The first year of attending school in the States was difficult. Teenagers my age acted, thought, and spoke differently. I figured it was going to be hard to adjust. I criticized myself for not speaking the English language fluently and felt different and weird among my classmates. Even though beginning life in the U.S was a challenge, I pushed myself to overcome it by taking it as an opportunity for self-transformation. I started cherishing my self-transformation and accepting my diverse culture as a gift of strength, because strength lies in differences and not in similarities. The experience helped me grow and it ended up building my character to become the person I am today. I have grown along the way. I am thankful for the challenges in my life because they are a period of personal growth and they teach me something new at the end of each day. I am now excited for a future of success, for reaching my goals, and for becoming the best version of myself. I grew up thinking change is distressing, but it’s not. Change is good. It did me good.

Goals and interests
- Career goal
I want to work on becoming an International lawyer. I was always interested in History and it was my favorite subject in school since middle school. I had the chance to know about different histories, like the history of Turkey, Italy, Spain, Lebanon, Egypt, and the United States, so it used to sparkle my interest. I found it amazing how these events are what led us to this present day and every historic event always had a long-lasting effect on our world today. History then started connecting with the constitution and I learned more about it through the years. I found out that I liked the ideas of constitutional law. I took a constitutional law class on VHS as an extra credit class and it interested me more when I learned about it in details. I believe constitutional law is important because it helps me understand human relations and organizational dynamics in the political life and nation.
- Graduate school interests
I am interested in studying law in a law school to become an international lawyer.
- Outside the classroom
During my free time, I enjoy reading books. I always get asked what type of books I like to ready, but in reality I don't have a favorite genre. I can pick up any book and start reading it as long as the events taking place are interesting enough to keep me reading. My favorite books are Selena by Nelly Andrade-hughes, Know My Worth by Chanel Miller, Love at First Like by Hannah Orenstein, and The Servants of Twilight by Dean Koontz. I have a passion to music and dancing as well. When it comes to sports, I play Lacrosse. I am glad to be on a great and amazing Girls Lacrosse team at Shepherd Hill.

In AIS, the high school I used to attend in the Middle East, we used to collect food and clothing for the families in need around Christmas time. We used to take the bus to Downtown Beirut and spend some time with the families and children that are lonely and struggle with financial problems.
