About
Hi! My name is Mariam Kazmi, and I attend Woodinville High School in Washington state. My dream is to get into an Ivy League university and delve into either a Business major or a Non-Profit Management major. Law is also of great interest to me. I am passionate about debate and participate in my school's debate team. More than anything, I love helping others, and I have turned this passion into a project I call English 1 on 1. In it, my goal is to gather a bunch of high school and middle school students and create an organization in which we help people worldwide speak conversational English. The classes we offer are completely free of cost and are individualized to each and every one of our students. I began this project in 2019, and it is still expanding. We have begun offering classes internationally as well, which I am super excited about! Finally, I am an avid writer and am currently working on a book I would love to publish. Through this work of fiction, I hope to demonstrate the struggles some may face if they arrive in the United States without the ability to communicate in English. I want to

Goals and interests
- Career goal
My goal is to become an entrepreneur. I want to create a company that helps people across the world. Specifically, I want to target the homeless community as well as immigrants and refugees around the United States. More than anything, I want to make a difference in people's lives. That is what I want my future career to look like. In addition, I want to be a corporate lawyer. This will help me full fill my passion for speech. Also, through law, I will get the ability to help my clients, which, again, is something I really want to do. I want to help others. Finally, near the very end of my career (by this, I mean near retirement age), I want to be a teacher. I want to pass on to my students the lessons I have learned through my life. I want to be a teacher not in local, public or private institutions. Instead, I want to build schools in other states, such as Pakistan and countries in Africa, in order to teach children in need over there. I want to teach them how to reach their full potential and be the very best person they can be, which is exactly what I hope to do on my job path.
