About
Hey there, I'm Marianna Marfe Jaques and I'm from Brazil. I'm currently applying for scholarships in order to attend UCCS in Colorado Springs, in which I lived for 10 months. Colorado is my home and I've been trying to find my way back ever since I arrived in Brazil on June 15th 2020. For me, education is this "way back". Additionally, I plan on getting a BS Business degree with an International Business and Spanish Minor. I'm a dreamer and I know I can do this!

Goals and interests
- Career goal
I'm very interested in working with companies worldwide. I believe this is how I will make my legacy and help people all over the world. In addition, I plan on attending UCCS (University of Colorado at Colorado Springs) and getting a BS Business degree alongside an International Business and Spanish Minor. In a few years, I will be working in a big company, I will grow myself as the best professional I can be and I will be a company's CEO.
- Graduate school interests
After I get my Business degree, I plan on improving myself as a professional, once again, through education. Additionally, I want to attend UCCS' Graduate School for a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree. I also plan on getting an Executive Doctor of Business Administration degree later on. In addition, I believe education is a life-time experience and people should never stop learning. Therefore, I will never stop improving myself through education.
- Outside the classroom
I'm a very eclectic person and I like to do many things such as practicing sports, engaging in artistic activities, hanging out with friends, studying, etc. But my main hobbies are singing, watching movies, painting, hiking and creating content for my YouTube Channel.

Volunteering
-
I helped organize the tables by taping the covers on them, took out the trash, carried tables and chairs around, took care of the bike section for the visitors, set up the posters, set up booths, etc. I mostly worked with a group of people in this festival.

During my senior year, I was a part of the volunteer club at my school. We had meetings every Wednesday for about 3 hours in which we volunteered. In this club, we have sent cards to people that live in Colorado Springs in order to bring awareness to the importance of voting. We've volunteered to help a member of the club (Leyla Ramonkulova from Tajikistan, raise money for her project back home) by making and selling cookies. Leyla was trying to raise money to help women in Tajikistan get a driver’s license. Also in that club, I volunteered at my school, CIVA Charter High School, by cleaning it.

I have also volunteered for my Yoga teacher, Ms. Betsy, whenever she needed help.

I decided to include my YouTube channel in this section since I've been posting videos to help other people for over a year and don't make any money from it. My channel is about my exchange year to The U.S. I talk about the reality of living abroad and I help other people as well. I have over 26 videos, 1.360 subscribers and 2,646 hours of public viewing. Additionally, I help a lot of people to pursue their dream to go on exchange. I reply to all of the questions on my videos and on my Instagram account. Many people message me to ask for advice and help. I feel very positive about my channel even though I do it for free, because many people are being inspired by me.

I have volunteered for 1 hour for the Colorado SADD on the Distracted Driving Meme Contest Challenge on April. It was all online because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
