About

My name is Marisol Medina and I am currently a third year social work student at New Mexico State University. I am in my third semester of the bachelors of social work program and I have thoroughly enjoyed it so far. Outside of being a full time student I work two jobs to help support myself and my education. I have two dogs, a 3 year old black lab named Zeus and a 10 year old Boston terrier named Lola.

Goals and interests

Career goal

After I graduate with both my bachelors and my masters degrees in social work I plan to start my career as a social worker either in a school setting, a healthcare setting, or working with children and families in more of a clinical setting. I know for sure I am interested in working with children, which also includes working with their families, so that is something I plan to do in my career path.

Graduate school interests

I do plan on going into graduate school to abtain my masters in social work. I currently attend New Mexico State University where I will graduate with my bachelors in social work, but I think I would like to obtain my masters in social work out of state. I have not yet thought about where exactly, but I do think it would be really memorable to go somewhere out of state.

Outside the classroom

Outside of school and work, I love to spend time with my family. Some of our favorite things we do together is travel, watch movies both at home and at the movie theatre, and play board games. We love to play Uno, Monopoly, dominos, spoons, and speed. No matter what we do, it is always a good time.
