Goals and interests

Career goal

I plan to attend pursue a career in industrial engineering. I chose this field because I love solving problems and turning ideas into something real. As an IE professional, I want to study how producing and managing energy can be maintained without harming the environment or depleting natural resources. However, I am still open to other opportunities in the field, and will use my time in college to explore internship opportunities with different industries and learn what fits me best. After earning my degree, I plan to go into the workforce for a few years to gain professional experience. I also plan to pursue a master’s degree in the field and earn additional engineering-related credentials, such as professional certifications or specialized training, to expand my skills and career opportunities.

Graduate school interests

I plan on pursuing a Master's degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering. I hope to leverage opportunities to participate in research on renewable energy systems to overcome the problems caused by today's commonly used energy sources.

Volunteering

  • Served as Youth Leader. Vacation Bible School is a week-long program for children from our parish and community. We teach the kids faith-based lessons, get creative with arts and crafts, play games, and sing songs together. We really get to know the children in our groups, and by the end of the week, we’ve formed bonds that makes the experience so special. It’s become one of the highlights of my summer.

  • Served as Youth Leader. This is a service activity that is really special to me because it let me share my love of dance and singing with younger kids in our parish. During the week, I helped choreograph simple routines, assisted with music lessons, and kept the kids engaged and having fun. I loved seeing the kids get excited, build confidence, and have fun with music and dance.
