Marleigh Hicks

I am Marleigh Hicks, a senior at Shortridge High School in Indianapolis, Indiana, where I am completing the full International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. I speak three languages — English, Mandarin Chinese, and Spanish — and have lived and studied in Taiwan, China, Ecuador, and Uganda. My goal is to earn a degree in Business Marketing with a focus on international business from Hampton University, where I plan to build on the global perspective I have developed through years of immersion education and travel. I have been recognized with Magna Cum Laude and Cum Laude honors, scored a 1260 on the SAT, and earned a 7 on my IB Chinese Ab Initio exam. Outside the classroom, I have played varsity soccer and run track, studied classical piano for twelve years, and worked in my father's auto repair business managing social media marketing campaigns and running Facebook and Meta ad placements. I am passionate about entrepreneurship and international commerce, and I am determined to use my education to build a career that connects markets and cultures across the globe.
