Mary Menjivar

My academic journey has been a long one, with about a 15-year break before I finally decided to go back and finish my bachelor’s degree. For nearly 20 years I worked in retail, but after a while I just got burned out from failing businesses and workloads that felt impossible to manage. That is when I found Grand Canyon University online, and it honestly felt like the right path at the right time. I am really excited about my future now as I work toward a degree in behavioral health. My hope is to become either a middle school guidance counselor or a drug counselor—depending on where life leads me.
