Mattie Worsham

I am currently an Anthropology major at Emory university, but I am hoping to double major in both Anthropology and Creative writing during the course of my undergraduate career at Emory. Outside of academia, I spend my time at a Hunter/Jumper Barn in Canton, Georgia. I have competed across the country with this barn from a very young age, and have found that such a passion helps to balance my life, and makes focusing on my classes at Emory easier. During my first semester at Emory, I continued to compete on the weekends, and qualified for Nationals, earning me and my horse a spot in the top 30 in the United States. While my studies differ greatly from my equestrian passion, I find that both have influenced and improved each other, as I learn different types of responsibility and commitment.
