About
My name is Mayra Romero. I grew up in West Dallas, organizations such as Mercy Street help shape me and prepare me for success. I graduated from Texas Woman's University with a Bachelor's in Food and Nutrition in Business and Industry and minored in Business Administration. I have been in the food industry for some time, where I have had roles in quality assurance, sales, replenishment, and so on. Currently I work as a Customer Success Manager for Pegasus Foods, where I have gain several skills by learning from different peers and understanding the different areas that make a company successful. I work with central planning, production, procurement, sales team, R&D team, quality, logistics, and the SLT team to ensure that our customers demand is being satisfied. I am very detail-oriented with experience in forecasting and data analytics. I am currently working on my Master's degree in Business Analytics to gain more knowledge and skills in my field that I can bring to the marketplace and eventually step into a management analyst position.

Goals and interests
- Career goal
My intended job path is to be a management analyst. I would love to be able to easily interpret data that could help modify an organization. My goal is to play important role within the SLT team and be able assist in managerial decisions by interpreting and analyzing data.
- Graduate school interests
My focus is Data Analysis. I choose this career path because DATA is essential to every business. Understanding and interpreting data helps us better understand a situation whether it is a problem or an opportunity and by doing so an organization can have better business outcomes and make better managerial decisions.
- Outside the classroom
I love to take my dog on walks and hikes and while doing listening to motivational speakers such as John Rohn who inspire to keep striving to be better.

I have volunteer a few times at Habitat for Humanity. Work with families as they build their homes. Growing up in West Dallas and coming from a family who owned a Habitat for Humanity inspires me to go out there and support families in need. Liftin shingles and trash, gardening, even hammering. It is just gratifying to see the families and their kids coming together building their soon to be home.

I look forward to every year during Christmas season to be a part of this beautiful ministry that helps families in need with a box of goods for the season. We pack over 20,000 boxes. This by far is one of the best volunteer experiences I have had.
