AVID Writing Competition
For anyone who is not familiar with AVID, it's a course students can take before college that will prepare them for the future. Every year, there is an AVID writing competition of all students grades 6-12 in that entire district. I won my junior year.
Goals and interests
- Career goal
After graduating, I plan to get a Public Relations job to start my career in Marketing. I enjoy the company I'm working for now because all the people know how to do their jobs and still have fun! I want to stay on a team that has outings at least monthly to catch up and bond even more. While working in PR, I would like to become the Public Relations Manager.
Plan B: If PR doesn't work for me, then I will seek out other marketing opportunities and I'm not afraid to travel/move for my career.
- Graduate school interests
For now, I am planning to just get my bachelor's in Marketing. However, everyone knows life never goes according to plan! I'm keeping grad school open as an option, but this is not my plan A.
If I attend grad school, then I will specify my masters degree in Public Relations instead of keeping my degree so broad in Marketing.
- Outside the classroom
In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, camping, and any activity that I can do with my two dogs Roxie and Tyson. I moved to Colorado July 2019, so I'm still enjoying getting to explore this new state I call home! If I'm not with my dogs, I still enjoy any outdoor activity that gets me away from work and school.
