Melinda Barenfanbger

I am a devoted mother of six, and my life's work has been centered on caring for, educating, and guiding my children. Now that my children are nearing adulthood, I feel a strong urge to return to graduate school and pursue a degree in counseling. Although my undergraduate degree is in teaching, my life experiences have cultivated a deep passion for helping others on a more personal level. Seeing my children achieve milestones, including obtaining graduate degrees, has been thrilling and inspiring. While I have always prioritized their needs and dreams, I now feel it is time to focus on a long-held aspiration of my own. I am eager to move forward in this aspect of my life that I have not yet explored.

I am driven by a profound desire to gain more knowledge and wisdom so that I can make a positive impact on people's lives. I have witnessed the struggles many face in the world, and I hope to use my master's degree in counseling to help others feel known, seen, and loved. I want to provide support and guidance to those who need it, offering them a sense of hope and direction. Counseling, with its focus on empathy and support, resonates deeply with my values and aspirations. I believe that through kindness and professional counseling, I can help individuals navigate their challenges and improve their well-being.
