About

I am a freshman Accounting/Finance major from Houston, Texas pursuing my higher education at Texas Tech University, Rawls College of Business. I have always had an interest in the business environment and envision myself as a future business mogul handling investments, real estate, accounting, and entrepreneurship. I am currently a member of the Rawls Business Leadership Program, Treasurer of the Multicultural Student Business Association, and a member of the National Association of Black Accountants Texas Tech Chapter. Outside of the business community on Tech campus, I am a member of Texas Tech Dancers with Soul: Hip Hop Dance Team, Alpha Lambda Delta Honors Fraternity, and the National Associaton of Collegiate Scholars. While continuing my studies, I aspire to do research in accounting and by the year 2020 have a B.B.A in Accounting, B.B.A. in Finance, and an M.S.A. in Accounting

During my matriculation at Texas Tech, I plan to pursue an undergraduate degree in finance and the accelerated bachelor to master program in accounting. This program will prepare me for the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Exam that I will take while finishing up my master's degree. In my personal growth, I plan to go back to school and get my Masters in Business Administration. In my spare time, I want to volunteer at nonprofit organizations to offer them my knowledge and in financial management.

Goals and interests

Career goal

Once I graduate college, my goal is to work for a public accounting firm to build my skills to equip me to become a forensic accountant. The early part of my life will be dedicated to my career as a forensic accountant and while I grow my network, knowledge, and resources to slowly, but methodically, get into real estate and investments.

Graduate school interests

I do plan to go earn my masters immediately after my undergrad, getting a master's degree in accounting. After working through my career and setting up a comfortable life, I will go for my Ph.D. in Accounting and teach graduate courses.

Outside the classroom

In my free time, I spend most of that time dancing with the hip hop dance group that is on Texas Tech campus. Outside of dancing, I like to stimulate my mind through chess and broaden my creativity through origami. I also partake in occasional tennis games and piano.
