About
Hello, my name is Sara Mate and I am a Biology major. I started off aiming to become a P.A. but somewhere along the road things happened. But non the less, I still am pursing a career in science. I've been raised in Texas the majority of my life and if my parents taught me anything thus far is hard work and education will get you far. Being from a different country actually as opened my eyes to the endless possibilities and opportunities that the United States offers and allows me to be as humble as I am in all that I do. At the current moment I have two jobs and go to school full-time so I have quit a load on my plate. But I figured why not invest in my future now and relax in it later? I'm going to be pursing a degree in biology and in education/teaching with the U-Teach program that is offered at University of Texas at Arlington (UTA). I want to be able to help students achieve their goals and master math and science which are the two leading subjects the U.S. was once the leader of and now we have fallen behind and I want to bring us back up. Furthermore with my biology degree I plan to pursue a career in radiology where I can still be in the health field which was my primary intention. Either way, I will be making a difference in people's lives and I'm honored to be choosing to do so.

- Graduate school interests
After I complete my Bachelor's degree I plan to get my master's in education and go to a 2-yr accredited school to get my radiologist license/certificate.
- Outside the classroom
I enjoy cooking! With my hectic schedule cooking is a sort of soothing relaxation for me. I also love to write. I've written quite a few poems and I also love to read because it engages my imagination and challenges it to see beyond the pages and words on the page. I also enjoy watching movies. I'm pretty old school so I still go to the stores to actually "buy the movies" on DVD instead of watching Netflix or whatnot like everyone else. I like to travel, but only by plane. I already don't like the wait so to put me in a car is worst so airplane is faster. I like to go to museums and see art because it stimulates my creativity since I'm more of a visual learner and I definitely enjoy a good laugh so comedy places are sure enough in my book.
