Meagan Moore

As of February 2015, I am 22 years old. I will graduate from Lamar University in May of 2015 with a degree in English concentrating in rhetoric/critical theory and a minor in writing. I love learning and sharing new knowledge with others with the same interests. I am currently working two jobs, one as a reporter for a newspaper and the other as a server at a restaurant, as well as taking nine hours in classes this spring semester. Other than the newspaper job and papers written for classes, I do not have much working experience in my field. However, I have worked in the restaurant business for five years. The skills I have built from this line of work include being able to multitask in a fast-paced environment, excellent social and communication abilities, and keeping a calm and clear mindset in stressful situations. I am a hard worker and a quick study. Fall semester of 2014, after taking off a semester to take care of personal issues, I made the President's list with a 4.0 GPA while working approximately 35-40 hours a week taking 15 hours in classes. My current overall GPA is 3.4, but I plan to graduate with a 3.5 or higher. I graduated from my high school in 2010 as the Salutatorian with a 4.0 GPA in a class of 68 (yes, it was a small school, but I worked hard for my grades). I am open minded about new ideas, but not afraid to voice my own. I work well in a team, taking the lead or following (whichever is required), but I also work great on my own. I do not like others being angry with or disappointed in me, so I strive to do my best, work diligently, and get the job done thoroughly in the correct way.
