About

Hello! My name is Mia Azuela (they/she). I am a rising senior based in San Diego, California, set to graduate from Grossmont High School in 2025 with honors. I have been writing since the age of five. I finished my junior year with a 4.8 GPA as a 7-time AP student and qualified for the UC Statewide Index, making me a student in the top 9% of the state of California for academics, and I also received the AP Scholar with Distinction award in July 2024. I also am due to become an English tutor within my school.
I also love learning languages. I studied Japanese for 5 years with a private tutor, self-studied Korean for 2 years, Russian for 3 years including a semester in local community college. Grew up speaking Spanish in a Mexican family and took the AP Spanish Language exam in May 2024. I now proudly volunteer as a translator for scientific documents with Climate Cardinals.
In my free time I sing opera (coloratura soprano), write and create my own music, play guitar, and program websites and other front-end services. I also studied art for seven years, becoming proficient in oil painting, watercolor, and sketching mediums.
I hope to become a writer and journalist, specializing in amplifying voices all around the world.
