Michele Jackson

Hello my name is Michele Jackson and I am an disabled adult returning to school student. I have been fighting a couple of chronic diseases over the last few years. Because of these auto immune diseases I have been unable to work a full time job. Becoming disabled rendered me helpless and dependent on others. It wasn't until one day I decided I would live and not die. Once this decision was made in my mind I decided to return to school full time. It has definitely been a challenge, however, I have excelled in every single class maintaining a 3.735 GPA. I belong to a few social organizations at my college one being project achieve and the other being Phi Theta Kappa. I have three grown adult children, two served in the armed forces. I am a big contributor and volunteer for military families. I also volunteer my services to church events and community events as my health permits. I originally entered school with the goal of being a registered nurse and working in the medical field as a result of my health issues I was discouraged from working in the medical field with patient to patient contact, however, encouraged to pursue my passion of helping people by providing my leadership and management experience to the healthcare leadership degree program with a minor in leadership.
