About
Michelle completed a post-graduate program at Johns Hopkins University in 2014 earning a certificate in Clinical Community Counseling. She is also certified as an Addiction Counselor since 2007 and recognized as a state approved Addiction Counselor supervisor since 2014. Michele is invested in community and has volunteered in various causes for more than 20 years and gained a plethora of practical and professional experiences and skills.
Michelle is a member of Maryland Counseling Association (MAC) and has earned lifetime membership with Psi Chi Honor Society and recently became a member of Chi Sigma Iota member. As a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor Michelle plans to work more in depth with couples and families, continue learning about how to recognize and address clients with trauma, addiction problems and explore clinical work in geriatrics.
She is currently enrolled at Argosy University in the Doctorate of Education in Counseling Supervision (EdD) program. As a therapist Michelle has a Psychodynamic orientation to therapy that is heavily influenced by a humanist approach where individual potential is encouraged through developing a healthier sense of self, developing healthy relationships and gaining a sense of meaning in life. Michelle enjoys helping individuals and couples discover their unique qualities and underlying influences that interfere with self-understanding and hinder deeper and more meaningful relationships. As a future counselor educator her goal is to support counseling programs to enhance learning experiences for future counselors, provide private counseling and to combine education with current tends by conducting research and exploring the benefits of therapy for those suffering with traumatic experiences.
Michelle is a native Marylander raised in the small town of Emory Grove. She has four wonderful children and a delightful grandson. Some of her free time is spent writing, creating graphite artwork, brisk walking and watching detective mysteries.
