Mikalie Millsaps

As entering my last semester of my senior year and looking back to see all that I have learned is encouraging as I enter the workforce as a social worker and as I continue into the master’s program at New Mexico Highlands University. My studies have taught me tools to use and code of ethics to follow as I serve others. I have worked part-time as I continued my studies over the last 5 years. I have successfully completed (2) practicums for my social work studies and I look forward to many more to come.

All along I could only hope to obtain a bachelor’s degrees in social work. I used that as a standard to my current situation and kept pressing on to continue to complete courses. My studies have opened my eyes to further goals to set after this point. I would like to continue with my studies and have applied to the master’s program. My life is serving others and gaining education in this area has encouraged me to better help others and has given me furthered purpose in doing that.
