About

My name is Miles A. Jordan. I'm a senior attending Villa Rica High School in Carroll County, Georgia. I started my first semester as a dual-enrollment student at the University of West Georgia in fall of 2019. I will be attending the University of West Georgia, continuing my academic journey after my graduation in May of 2020. My personal goals are to pursue an academic concentration in Music education and Psychology. I've played the saxophone for four years in Villa Rica High Marching band. I've been a active member of the University of West Georgia band ensemble for two years. In 2019 I was an member of the Carroll County High School Honor Band.
. I will continue to give back to the community through my philanthropy work. As an honorable member of the Beta Club I have been involved in several community initiatives. Just recently, I joined the community Huddle for Heroes initiative to write letters to military service members, veterans and their families. I’ve collected gently used blue jeans to donate for local youth experiencing homelessness. I partnered with Villa Rica High School Beta Club and collected animal treats, food, toys and blankets for the Carroll County Humane Society. In January I participated the Villa Rica High School Beta Club Kindness & Anti-Bullying awareness event. I collected and donated non-perishable food items for needy students and family members of the Villa Rica High School PASS Wildcat Care Closet. Some of my past community initiatives consisted of playing games and working puzzles with residents of the Ashbrook Retirement Home. I have sent wishes of hope in letters to children with cancer and donated over 500 soda bottle caps to Ronald McDonald's children's cure for cancer. I collected hygiene items for the Packages of Care for homeless hurricane survivors. I packaged food items at the Douglasville Pantry for needy families. I volunteered and cleaned park benches and equipment for the Boys and Girls Club of Douglasville to prepare for their summer program. I collected items for the Toys for Tots Christmas donation. In January of 2019, I became the 1st place winner of the American Legion Post 338, Freedom of Speech essay contest. In middle school I received my 3-year Certificate of Completion from Morehouse College iSTEM (Innovation, Science, Technology, Engineer, Math) Program. I was the recipient of the Lions Young Leadership in Service Gold Award. My community service involvement will continue to be an influencer in my educational and professional aspirations. I plan to continue encouraging the young leaders of tomorrow, mentoring band students and being a strong advocate for student leadership programs. A scholarship reward will offer a financial advantage that would place me in a position for maximum success during and after college.
Thank you for this opportunity.

Sincerely yours,
Miles A. Jordan
