About
Hello! My name is Nalani Cole. I am a young Black woman who lives in Dallas, TX. I plan to major in architectural engineering and minoring in electrical engineering. I always had an interest in building things, helping others and making creative pieces of work. Once I discovered engineering, I wanted to find out more. I had help from trusted individuals to help make my decision set. So, here I am, working towards my goal!

Goals and interests
- Career goal
My intended job path is to be an architectural engineer. STEM is a challenging pathway, especially for women. I would like to take this path because I am passionate about this career field, a helpful individual and want to influence the younger generation
To start, I am completing my basics in community college, then transfer to a 4-year university. I am still deciding on a university to go to, narrowing down to 2 schools: UTA and UTD.
UT Arlington has my architectural engineering pathway, but it is a drive from where I live. UT Dallas does not have my program directly, however, it is in the works of creating one.
If Honor Society is willing to contribute to my goals, it will be advantageous, not only me, but worldwide.- Graduate school interests
I am pursuing a bachelor's degree in engineering as of right now. I learned to take life one day at a time. However, if I had the choice, I would pursue a master's degree in architectural engineering, if offered.

1. Reading: I love to read! I enjoy fiction, adventure, family, Sci-Fi, and mystery books. I read because of comprehension, creativity, and how it can be a withdrawal from worldwide issues.
2. Painting: I have been an imaginative, creative person since I was little, so watercolor and acrylic painting, are always fun for me. I view this as a way can express my creative side.
3. Family-Oriented: I always want to spend time with my family, while doing school work. A couple of examples would be a treatment to Yogurtland or to go to North Park Mall. I enjoy every second of it.

Project leader
The work place was at Lake Highlands High School over an engineering project. Our project was composed of a battery, an inverter, 2 solar panels, a rolling table, and 30 planks of wood. The majority of students recommended a stand with less wood for the project, but I thought otherwise. I insisted on a stronger foundation, and from there, our group constructed a "mobile book" solar panel station. The name came from the 2 solar panels, which opened and closed, like a book. Until the end of the year, we wired it up, checked working status, and enjoyed our demonstration of it to the school.

Cashier
I worked at the Great American Cookies Bakery and Marble Slab Creamery. This was my first working job and, I was uneasy about it, since I did not have prior experience. On the first day, co-workers I had were welcoming and showed me the jobs I needed to do. The cashier was my main job, but I also cleaned, organized and restocked with low traffic. After a couple months working, I understood the effort of voicing my opinion, hard work, and leadership. This is located on Walnut Hill Ln Suit 208, Dallas, TX 75238. Stop by, if you can!

Volunteering
-
I was a participating team member in specific donations and events. One event specifically is going to the North Texas Food Bank, and reorganizing good versus expired food. However, me and my family do volunteering without documenting because, it may take away the sincerity of our actions. Instead, we do it for honesty and hope it will help individuals find their way.
